To allow the clay to continue to breathe, we used high-quality eco-paint , some of which we refined with turmeric, beetroot, and carrot juice to attain the perfect hues.<\/p>\n<p>We used 14 cm thick hemp boards to insulate the roof trusses, and there is a thin layer of cork under the parquet flooring in the bedroom instead of Styrofoam as impact sound insulation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div   class='hr hr-default   avia-builder-el-12  el_after_av_one_half  el_before_av_one_half '><span class='hr-inner ' ><span class='hr-inner-style'><\/span><\/span><\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-13  el_after_av_hr  el_before_av_one_half  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><h2>Second Chance<\/h2>\n<p>We found some of our high-quality furniture at flea markets or received them as gifts from family. The old Singer sewing machine table, for example, is looking forward to its second chance in the reading corner and the old wooden bed, which has changed hands several times, gives the cosy bedroom a sublime shine. The wall tiles in the guest bathroom date back to the GDR era &#8211; we discovered them in the barn and decided to give the out-of-fashion pieces a new lease on life. The beautiful wardrobe, for example, used to be a wooden staircase \u2013 this side panel is actually called a stringer. It had lain lonely and abandoned in our barn. Lovingly refurbished and fitted with a few old metal elements, it now faithfully serves as a wardrobe and is a delight for the eye.<\/p>\n<p>The old chains on which the living room lamps hang used to be part of horse harnesses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div   class='hr hr-default   avia-builder-el-22  el_after_av_one_half  el_before_av_one_half '><span class='hr-inner ' ><span class='hr-inner-style'><\/span><\/span><\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-23  el_after_av_hr  el_before_av_one_half  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><h2>Almost Plastic-free<\/h2>\n<p>As we do in our own home, we have also tried to do without plastic in HYGGE HAUS. Instead of a plastic coffee machine, you will find a high-quality stainless steel French press. The toaster and kettle are very low in plastic (plastic-free is not yet available on the market). Instead of Tupperware, there are glass containers with bamboo lids in the kitchen.
