The restless spirit
Kinga
Kinga with Fasa (left) and Tola
Kinga mit Fasa (links) und Tola
Kinga is a journalist, do-gooder & dog-lover and is mainly responsible for the creative and aesthetic aspects of the house, although she also lent a hand with the renovation. For years, she has mainly been busy with three things:
- Writing
- Animal welfare
- Dogs
She currently has two shelter dogs and a foster from Romania. Having been involved with sustainability for several years, she wrote the book “Grüner Hund” (Green Dog) in 2018, which addresses environmentally friendly and species-appropriate dog ownership. Kinga also runs Germany’s first green pet shop, which, in addition to its online presence, also operates as a stationary country shop.
The sentence that best describes Kinga:

The calm in the storm
Matthias
Matthias with his favorite toy
Matthias mit seinem Lieblingswerkzeug
Matthias is a construction engineer and is responsible for the planning and tangible implementation of the house renovation. During the week, he is out and about in the construction noise of a metropolis, but at weekends he enjoys the idyllic tranquillity of Niebel: a refuge for stressed city dwellers and a haven for nature lovers.
Instead of construction cranes, there is the beautiful tower of an old village church, instead of exhaust fumes there is the delicate scent of lavender and instead of traffic noise there is the sonorous hum of busy bees. A time-out to recharge your batteries, calm your nerves and slow down.
Matthias grew up without any pets, and it was Kinga who introduced him to dogs. Now he can no longer imagine life without his four-legged friends – especially Fasa – his favourite.
The sentence that best describes Matthias:
There is strength in serenity.
